Church History

After starting a mission in Lawrenceville, Georgia, and pastoring three years in Fort Valley, Georgia Elder Willis Paden returned to Atlanta with his family to begin a ministry in Scott’s Crossing Community on July 5th, 1960. Elder Paden put up a tent on the corner of Hollywood and Main Street. The Lord was certainly in the plan because a house was offered for services where members began to pour in through the teaching and preaching of this great man of God. With his precious wife, Mother Geneva Paden, by his side, this man of God built the Lord a church on the property of the house at 991 Hollywood Road, in Atlanta.

In August 1982, the church moved from 991 Hollywood Road to 380 Boulevard, SE where they worshipped for eight years and the church name was changed from Scotts Crossing to Tabernacle of Faith COGIC. Tabernacle of Faith Early Learning Center and many outreach ministries were established to serve the greater Atlanta Area. On June 9, 1995, the Lord called our precious “MOTHER” home from labor to reward. God kept us in his hand by sending one of Bishop’s spiritual sons, Elder Ronald Jackson to help support our Bishop and the ministry.

In November 2000, Bishop Paden retired and in August 2001, Supt. Michael Paden, his son, took over as pastor of the church. Under Pastor and First Lady Paden’s leadership, the church moved to Douglasville, Georgia, and recently relocated to Riverdale, GA in January 2019. Pastor Paden is also the founder and pastor of Holy Fellowship COGIC in Snellville and Jurisdictional Bishop of Georgia Metro Jurisdiction. He and his wife have three beautiful children, Monica, Erica, and Michael Jr., three granddaughters, and three grandsons.
